New 2020 Peugeot 2008 SUV revealed as 'more grown up Crossover'

Peugeot's smartly-styled 2008 small SUV will arrive next year with advanced tech, more space and, like the 208 supermini, will be available in pure-electric form too.The versatile SUV is designed with the user's lifestyle in mind: with PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit®, next generation technology, and a selection of powerful, fuel efficient combustion and 100% electric engines.

Design

With its fluid and robust lines the all-new PEUGEOT 2008 SUV delivers masterful power and efficiency. Its striking front grille, horizontal bonnet, and raised ground clearance enhance the sophisticated and sharp design. At the rear the spoiler, gloss black rear cluster connecting strip, and chrome exhaust affirm its sporty, tenacious personality. Every detail has been precision-crafted without compromise, for enhanced elegance and functionality.

The expressive front face of the all-new Peugeot 2008 SUV features a large chrome grille and presents a modern and bold vision with its signature 3-claw full LED headlights.

The distinctive and daring rear design, with the gloss black rear cluster connecting strip, is further enhanced by full LED rear lights with claw effect. The spacious boot, with fold-down rear seat, offers ample functional loading space. And there’s no compromise whichever powertrain you choose: the boot has the same capacity throughout the range.

Seat upholstery comes with quality fabrics like Alcantara® or leather(1) and heated front seats come standard on GT Line and above. The driver’s seat also offers a massage function which is electronically controlled.
Comfort and space are maximised in the rear passenger compartment, and are complemented by the opening panoramic glass roof which bathes the cabin in natural light and the premium Focal® Hi-Fi sound system.

Technology

Enrich your journey with the new PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit®. Its intuitive driving position, compact steering wheel, 10” HDcapacitive colour touchscreen, and configurable 3D digital head-up display provide an immersive driving experience. Fitted with smart technology like TomTom® Traffic, Mirror Screen® connectivity and wireless charging, it also boasts PEUGEOT Open and Go keyless entry.


Engines

You have the freedom to choose.

The all-new PEUGEOT e-2008 compact SUV comes with a 100kW (136bhp) engine with torque of 260Nm.

In the combustion version, there’s a range of powerful and fuel efficient engines, equipped with Stop&Start functionality: BlueHDi diesel or PureTech petrol engines, offering up to 155bhp for that extra sporty drive.

For even greater flexibility and responsiveness, opt for the EAT8 8-speed automatic gearbox with its Quickshift technology.

Electric

The 100kW engine (136bhp) provides instant acceleration with its immediate engine torque of 260Nm, as well as the pleasure of flexible, dynamic, and silent driving.The all-new PEUGEOT e-2008 compact electric SUV contains a high capacity high voltage 50kWh battery, ingeniously installed to save space in the passenger compartment and boot. It has a range of 193 miles WLTP(1), with zero CO2 emissions on the road. The battery is guaranteed for 8 years or 100,000 miles for 70% of its charge capacity.

The all-new PEUGEOT e-2008 SUV offers three driving modes: Sport: priority given to performance and driving sensations (0-60 in 8.5s), Normal: optimum comfort for everyday use, Eco: range optimisation.

To enjoy the full driving capability of the all-new PEUGEOT e-2008 compact electric SUV and its 193 mile range WLTP(1), a number of charging options are available, at home or using public ev charging stations.

You can programme scheduled charging using the smart navigation screen or the MyPeugeot® app(2). This system also lets you start charging at any time and check battery levels.

Petrol and Diesel Models

The all-new PEUGEOT 2008 SUV features the latest Euro 6d petrol and diesel engines. There will be 3 petrol and 1 diesel engines to choose from, based on PEUGEOT’s three-cylinder 1.2 PureTech petrol engine and the four-cylinder 1.5 BlueHDi diesel:

  • 2L PureTech 130 S&S 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic
  • 2L PureTech 155 S&S 8-speed automatic (only for GT trim)

Diesel

  • 5L BlueHDi 100 S&S 6-speed manual

Since 2017, PEUGEOT models have met the Real Driving Emissions (RDE) with a compliance factor of 1.5 instead of the current, permitted, 2.1 conformity factor - three years ahead of the regulation deadline.
